A POD in relation to The Ministry Development Centre Online is defined as:
- A location where Facilitators and Students gather to View Online Training Materials and engage in Comprehensive Conversations as directed by Online Instructors. The Entire Process is enhanced by Student Interaction with the Reading Material, the Online Videos, Facilitator Direction and of course, The Presence of the Holy Spirit!!
POD Requirements
There are 5 Requirements that have to be in place and accepted by the MDC Online Director, Rev. Dr. David C Skidmore. The first three are provided by you, the last two are provided by The MDC Online.
- Approved POD Facilitator
- Must have taken online training
- Must have successfully completed the online exam
- Must have approval from local Church pastor
- Must have final approval from Rev. Dr. David C Skidmore
- POD Theological Consultant
- This person has a Masters in Theological Studies and is available to the POD should questions or concerns of a Theological nature arise.
- Requirements:
- Must have a Masters or Doctorate Degree in Theological or Biblical Studies
- Must be in hearty agreement to the Nazarene Church and to Wesleyan Perspective
- Local Church Pastor Endorsement
- Local Church Pastors must heartily endorse the establishment of the Pod
- Online Instructor
- Teaching Assistants (TA)
- We Provide
- These people are assigned to your Pod and have the primary responsibility of correcting homework
Currently, PODs are running primarily in the Canada West District of the Church of the Nazarene Canada. The Modular Course of Study is approved for use across North America and beyond so other Districts may be available in the near future as delivery points for MDC Online PODs.
