Overview: |
Spiritual formation is the transformational outworking of the grace of God in the hearts and actions of human beings. It includes Christian fellowship, community, and worship (Eph 4:15-16) as well as acts of service (Gal 6:10). This course focuses primarily on the spiritual disciplines, devotional skills, and practices that open the door to the transforming Spirit. |

Requirements:
- Attendance: A Student may miss a total of 2 classes in any course with Explanation and Without Penalty.
- Reading: All Lesson Materials MUST be read before coming to class. (Faculty Guide)
- Homework: All assigned homework MUST be completed and submitted online by Due Date.
- Journals: All journal entries MUST be completed and submitted online by Due Date.

- Ability to locate, understand, and use appropriate resources for individual and congregational spiritual formation.
- Ability and commitment to take responsibility for continuing spiritual development.

- Ability to identify major persons in the history of Christian spirituality.
- Ability to identify and explain the historical and modern movements of Christian spirituality.
- Ability to identify and differentiate the holiness movement's approach to spirituality from other Christian and non-Christian forms of spirituality.
- Ability to assist others in developing a plan for spiritual formation.
